Thoughts & Prayers for fellow bloggers

I'm still fairly new to this blogging scene, but one of the first blogs I started to follow (and loved) was Bumpkin of a Swing. So it was with total shock that today I read that Lisa unexpectedly passed away after a short battle with cancer.

I didn't 'know' her very well - only read and commented on her blog over the past two months -- but it's all so very sad, especially knowing how close she was to a few of my other fave bloggers. It's been hard reading their posts today as well.

And it's even sadder that it all happened in such a short time, so unexpectedly.

Finding out about Lisa today really pushes the point with me -- everything can change so suddenly and people can be taken from your life without much notice. It's so important to tell the people in your life who are important to you how much you love them and appreciate them - and how it's important to weed out the people in your life who are nothing more than negative influences.

This also is making me think more about my life and the direction I want it to take - I've been in this funk lately trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up and thinking about all of the things I want to accomplish while I'm still young. Life can be taken from you so quickly - so why wait? Act now.

And I have been talking about trying out a Methodist church close to my new condo for some time - I think this Sunday I need to finally quit talking and actually do it.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Lisa's family and to all of the other bloggers out there who were close friends with her.

So sad.

And now losing those two Lily dresses seems so very, very, very insignificant - and I feel bad for wasting time even writing about it.

I was a blogger friend of Bumpkin - we really bonded and emailed throughout that oil spill crisis. Been crying my eyes out for sometime, but saw this and wanted to say she loved Lily so don't sweat it. She'd a done the same! It's a sad, sad day.

Go check that church.

xoxo,
Carrie

Lisa wants you to be sad over those Lilly dresses, I promise!! She would've wanted you to have them :)

Thank you for this kind post, my sweetie. So precious of you.

I'm with Carrie, go to the church. You will be so fulfilled and happy that you did.

XOXO
