New Year's Eve - What I'm Wearing

I have done a complete 180 and changed up my outfit after my husband commented that my sweater/skirt ensemble wasn't 'festive' enough. ???

Anyways - I decided I would be bundling up in a coat when I'm outside regardless of what I wear, so I might as well dress fun so I can look 'festive' while indoors. :)

Here's my {final} NYE outfit choice....

New Year's Eve 2012/2013 Fashion Inspiration

After checking the weather for Monday night, I'm rethinking my outfit somewhat. We're doing a house party, so I can pull off the comfort and warmth, but still dress it up with sequins and pearls. Here is my latest NYE outfit idea...

New Year's Eve 2012/2013 Fashion Inspiration

Christmas is almost here! {happy dance...sad face it's almost over}

I've been planning my New Year's Eve outfit, and so far, this is my inspiration...taking a casual, comfy grey tee and dressing it up with a sequined skirt and accessories.

It always looks better in Pinterest than on me, so I have to try this all on and then go from there...

Hmm - that cake looks sooo familiar.

Wow... this Southern Living white cake that's on their holiday issue cover sure does look a lot like a cake I know from a year ago....

One Year Anniversary - Cake Topper

My one year wedding anniversary was this past Monday, and in following with tradition, we pulled out our cake topper to have a slice to celebrate. Here's a photo of our cake from our wedding day and you can read more about our cakes in a post I did earlier this year.

Whether or not the cake would still be as delicious as it was on our wedding day was definitely in question. It had been frozen in my parent's freezer since our wedding day, but made a 7 hour trek to Charleston from Birmingham after Thanksgiving in a small cooler filled with ice.... then immediately put in our freezer....then moved to the fridge the night before our anniversary to thaw.

We ate the cake slices off our of wedding china - we figured it was as good of an occasion as any to use it, especially considering we had yet to use our wedding china since our wedding day. :)

The verdict: Cake was still good! A little cold...as to be expected...but really good...snowflakes and all.

We also pulled out Michael - he's been "chilling" with his life size silver glove in our freezer since our wedding.

Here's the photo of our Groom's cake from our wedding day.

He's still got it... even though Willow wasn't so sure.

Did you eat your wedding cake on your one year anniversary? Did it taste any good?

As you can see in the last photo, I'm in my pajamas - yup, we celebrated our one year anniversary by grilling out steaks and baked potatoes, chilling in our PJ's, enjoying our newly decorated (love the smell of a real tree!) Christmas tree, and catching up on our DVR'd shows.

We were exhausted on Monday, because we had spent the entire week before celebrating our anniversary non-stop....in Disney World! Will have to post soon on that - it was amazing. Here's a teaser photo of us wearing hats and shirts that I made. This is how you know your husband really loves you - when he's willing to wear a cheesy shirt and hat for you all day in the Magic Kingdom because he knows it makes you happy. :)

Cheers!
