Happy Fifth of July!

Haven't posted in a while - last week was one of those weeks...

But this past weekend was a much needed break, full of relaxation.

Our group of friends decided to celebrate the Fourth of July on Sunday instead - the running joke was we were celebrating the Fourth, on the Third, on Fifth at Folly. We had a large crew out on the beach -- we all woke up bright and early to beat the traffic, so I was on the beach before 10am, which made for a loooooong day!
This is even missing probably 10 people...not sure how we
were able to corral this many people into a group photo.
Bocce Ball!
Hot ladies!
It was a lot of fun, but Monday we woke up in pain and exhausted. Monday was pretty lazy, but we still felt like we needed to do something for the Fourth, so we headed to Vickery's on Shem Creek after dinner and set up chairs right by the water, on the side of the building facing the new wooden pier. We had great views of Sullivan's Island fireworks, random houses in Mt. Pleasant shooting off fireworks, Folly Beach fireworks (way off in the distance) and a perfect view of the Patriot's Point fireworks -- which were so good!

The view from Vickery's right before dark.
Perfect Palmetto moon right above fireworks - see the Cooper River bridge on the right.
We left when they were done around 10ish, exhausted, but it felt good that we had done something Fourth of July-ish. :)

Today I've felt off all day - I guess I'm not as young anymore, so it takes me a while to get back in the swing of things after a long day of drinking hanging out on the beach. :) This picture of Willow from this morning pretty much sums up how hard it was to get out of bed this morning.

Looks like ya'll had a great time! I hate not living near the beach and plan on moving very close to one in the next couple of years. I LOVE Bocce ball too!
