Winter Wedding: My Shoes

So throughout my big day, I wore three different pair of shoes...

The first pair doesn't really count, since I wore them solely for photos. It's really hard to balance en pointe on carpet, but the photos turned out really beautiful.

Next I put on my official shoes. I knew I wanted navy blue shoes and I looked high and low for a pair I would fall in love with. I even bought (and still have) two pairs of navy heels I ended up not using...because when I laid my eyes on the polka dot Kate Spades I knew they were the ones.

Of course I saw them on a Kate Spade sale on Rue La La...sold out. But a lucky search on Ebay found a pair.. in my size! Meant to be.

They were cute, comfortable and fun. I decorated the soles with the traditional "I do" and a "And they lived happily ever after...".

At the reception, I had a third pair of shoes waiting on me - blue sequin Converse sneakers to match the Converse shoes my Groom was wearing. I slipped them on after dinner, just in time for dancing the rest of the night.

My February in Photos

Hosted Super Bowl party that included a Woofle Ball game behind
our house. Had to hold your beer in one hand and play w/ the other!
My adorable niece turned one earlier this month!

My sister did an awesome job with the owl themed party!
These cupcakes were the cutest!

LOVE this photo - this was after she demolished her cake.

Bradley and I celebrated Valentine's Day at Osteria la Bottiglia - a hole
in the wall Italian eatery off of King St. that we tried for the first time.
The atmosphere was so nice and the food was delicious. Highly recommend!
Spent a Saturday at Folly Gras - a day long celebration at Folly Beach. It included
a mini parade of over the top decorated golf carts and...well..this thing.
Lots dinners with friends - including one at the new Pawley's Front Porch
in Belle Hall shopping center off of Long Point. I used to eat/drink at the one in
Five Points in Columbia all the time when I lived there. Their burgers are so good.
I 'attempted' to be healthy this time by switching my burger to chicken - but I'm sure the
pasta salad side, fried green tomato, and boursin cheese didn't help matters. :)

And lots of weekends in town means lots of happy hours with friends
(and realizing I may be too old for all this drinking). Evidently this night black
and white stripes were the uniform.

And last but not least...lots of lazy Sundays and sleeping in.
Even our playful puppy was enjoying the lazy days.

Here's to a fun-filled March that's just as good (if not better) than February!

Green Jeans Three Ways

If you follow my blog, you know how in love I am with my Old Navy jeggings. Well now they have them in different colors - I got them in pink, but recently I got a pair in green!

So now I'm trying to figure out what the heck to wear them with, so I turned to Polyvore and styled three outfits using things I own (or have similar items).

What do you think of these outfits? Do they work? What would you wear with green jeans?

OOTD - Dressing like Spring in the middle of Winter

One of my girlfriends is having a girls' dinner at her house tonight - we're celebrating her birthday (even though she doesn't want to) and looking for any excuse to drink lots of wine on a 'school' night.

I'm sure you've heard, but it's 80 degrees here today. Sitting in my grey, miserable cubical all day has been torture since it feels amazing outside.

I'm squeezing in a run today after work and would love to run the bridge, but I guarantee the bridge will be FULL of runners and walkers...and I don't do well with crowds while trying to run...it's a wonder I make it through the bridge run...

...but I digress...

Tonight I'm breaking out some Spring attire - I'll try to get a real picture, but until then, Polyvore is my stylist.

Everything I pretty much have, but my purse is similar but slightly different...I do not own $1K diamond earrings...but a cheap CZ pair to substitute, and my jean jacket is a shade or two lighter and a little more cropped...

Cheers!!

Found! Black & White stripe top for less!

So, a few days ago I blogged about my dilemma in trying to find a black and white stripe shirt like the one I found on JCrew...but for much less.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! I FOUND ONE! Hooray... and it was right under my nose.

The Gap!

I found it online under their petites. They were sold out of all the sizes in the regular sizing, so that's why I couldn't find it - didn't even show up in search results.

Well, unfortunately, it was only available in a Large in petites...boo. So today I went by the local Gap and they had them in stock in the regular sizes! So I tried on the Small and it fits perfect and the fabric is really soft... I'm so excited.

Best part of this shirt... it's less than $25!!

P.S. The reason I wanted the shirt so badly is because I've pinned several outfits that have a black and white stripe top like this that I really want to duplicate...and now I can. :)

Winter Wedding: Koozies

We wanted something different (i.e. not the usual "To have and to hold and to keep your beer cold....") for our koozies, so we did a play on our last names since we both have unique last names.

We came up with a beer label of sorts - Season Punch. The front says 'since 2006', when we started officially dating, and '100% love  by volume'. The description on the back describes our relationship - we did the back and forth between Columbia and Charleston for the first four years of our relationship before I finally moved to Charleston.

We put these in baskets and had them at each bar. We totally overestimated how many we would need, so now we have a huge box of them in our bar at home...which is fun to pull out and give some away when we have friends over who didn't make it to the wedding (or forgot to grab one at the wedding).

I created the design in Photoshop and worked with a friend of a friend of a friend and had them made locally.

Need your personal shopping skills...

I really, really want a black and white stripe t-shirt just like this one from JCrew - but without the JCrew price. I'm sorry...but I just can't stomach shelling out $75 for a basic top.

{link}

I've looked all over Target, Forever21, ShopRuche, etc. thinking surely they would have a basic black and white stripe shirt.

Nope.

Any ideas where to look?

Winter Wedding: First Dance

Perfect timing for Valentine's Day! Our videographer (after several pushy emails from me) finally uploaded a rough, raw version of our first dance...and the father/daughter dance and mother/son dance as well.

What's so special about our first dance, you ask?

It starts out with our inside joke song that really is like 'our song'... "What are you doing the rest of your life" by Barbara Streisand.

But quickly morphs into a full-out Michael Jackson remix choreographed dance...complete with aviators, glitter gloves and on the groom, glitter socks.

Why MJ? My husband is OBSESSED with Michael Jackson...he practiced his moonwalk (not a great shot of it in this video) for months!

We told no one. Only our DJ, videographer, and photographer knew about this. Everyone was completely surprised and you can tell from the cheers once we start the choreographed part.

Big thanks to friend Chris "DJ Rehab" McCoy for mixing the songs for us!

The video is a little rough since it's a raw cut and the music isn't synched as well - I'm hoping our DVD will have a really cool edited version....but we couldn't wait that long. We wanted something to share! So here it is! You can stop it after the dance ends...unless you really want to see us dance with our parents. :)

Enjoy!

physical hunger vs. emotional hunger

A co-worker of mine shared this on Facebook (never mind that we are both on Facebook while at work) and according to this chart, I am mostly (if not always) emotionally hungry!

Weekend Outfit Planning Part 2

So...I thought my outfit plan for tonight was going to work, until I went for a run yesterday around 5:30pm and realized...um...it's not that warm out when the wind blows and there's no sun. So...not sure my outfit I wanted to wear will be warm enough.

But I still want to wear that pink scarf darnit...so...how about something comfy and basic...black sweater, black ugg-like boots (I have a knock off version), and the scarf??

And remember this outfit I pinned on Pinterest that inspired me?

Well, I think I'm going to try something similar with grey and orange for our Super Bowl party on Sunday.

The only difference is I will probably wear a pair of grey flats that I have since I do not own (YET) these adorable grey TOMS ballet flats....which... the day after they launched I went by the store close to me that carries them to buy them...only to find out they won't get them in for weeks (what the what?). Boo. I considered buying them online - and paying overnight shipping so I could have them by Sunday. But then... I realized that they are already $75 and overnight shipping was almost $30... sigh. So no TOMS for me just yet...

Weekend Outfit Planning

Saturday my best friend's family is having a big oyster roast party in their back yard. The weather is going to be low 60's upper 50's - not cold, but not warm...

I have a green military-style jacket from Forever 21 that I've worn maybe twice that I'm thinking of pairing with jeans, boots and my cute pink scarf from Old Navy (lovin' me some Old Navy lately...seriously).

Wondering if the green and pink work. Looks good on paper...er...screen. We'll see if it will work in real life.
