Celebrating love with food...

My fiance and I celebrated our Valentine's Day a little early on Saturday night - he took me to an Italian (my fave!) dinner at a restaurant in Mt. Pleasant called Bacco... it was pretty good. We sipped on wine and stuffed ourselves with yummy pasta.

After dinner we headed downtown to Kaminsky's - a dessert cafe that offers a selection of amazing cakes, pies, cookies... even in the off season, there was still a long line out the door to get in.

I ordered a slice of the Heath Bar cake and my fiance ordered a slice of the triple chocolate cake. So yummy... and paired with caramel lattes. If you ever visit Charleston, Kaminsky's is a must do.

Happy Valentine's Day... how did you or how will you be celebrating?

Friday Fancies: My BHLDN wedding dress...

Today I decided to participate in a blog link up from Long Distance Loving - Friday Fancies. "Dream Big. Let your imagination fly!"

Earlier this week I posted a sneak preview I found for Anthropologie's new wedding line, BHLDN. I know I sound like a broken record, but I cannot wait until Monday's unveiling of the BHLDN collection.

Several bloggers I follow - both Anthro and Wedding - were flown by Anthro to preview the new collection...so several 'sneak peeks' of BHLDN were all over the blogosphere the past couple of days.

And I am madly, truly, deeply in love with this dress...

However, it's not quite appropriate for my formal, evening winter wedding - being short and all.

So I immediately think... can I pull this off for my rehearsal dinner? My...casual rehearsal dinner? {shoulders slump} Probably not.

But.I.love.it.

Yet...my wedding dress will need to be white to match my mother's veil I'm wearing. This 'nude' color would probably blend in with my skin anyways...nobody wants a naked, lacey bride...sigh.

If only Anthropologie could offer a longer version with a fuller skirt...and in white.

So...in honor of Friday Fancies... I'm dreaming big...and letting my imagination fly...and channeling that energy into PhotoShop....

Ladies... I present to you my BHLDN wedding dress...long and lacey...in a lovely shade of white...my dream wedding dress...

{try not to laugh...ok, ok....go ahead and laugh... lol}

I even have a BHLDN flower in my hair...

Happy Friday...enjoy your weekend!

I've got a fever...and the only prescription is more Nautical..

So, I've always been a big fan of nautical fashion... how could I not be living in Charleston?

But lately, nautical is really becoming a growing trend on a lot of my fave shopping websites -- and I.can't.stop.buying...

Some of my recent purchases - all very reasonably priced and bargain finds, mind you... Loving anything navy striped or 'anchored' these days...

And then of course...to make matters worse, RueLaLa had a sale today from Sperry Top Sider, and I just couldn't pass up these adorable wedges...they are just too cute! And oh, so very nautical...sigh.

I may have a 'nautical' problem... :-/

Anthropologie BHLDN sneak peek!

Glamour ran a sneak peek of some of the amazing wedding dresses from Anthropologie's new wedding line - BHLDN - which launches Feb. 14th! I am in love with the butterfly covered dress and the ball gown with the bow on the front of the skirt... I cannot wait until Monday to see the entire line! Swoon!

Movie Night

It's a cold, rainy Friday and I'm so ready for a weekend in town with no plans... Tonight a few of us girls are going to dinner and a movie. I'm planning on bummin' it in my comfy jeggings and new Old Navy cardigan. This cardigan has already paid me back the $25 I spent on it... It's so warm and comfortable... I think I've worn it almost every day this week to work.

We're thinking of going to see the Natalie Portman movie 'No Strings Attached'... anyone see it yet? Good lazy Friday night movie?
